Harvard Innovation Labs - Classroom

Overview:

Sage Learning is a new digital platform that empowers university educators to create their own instructional videos and online content with easy-to-use tools and collaborative features. Come hear from the founders Emma and Vish (both alums of Khan Academy) for an honest, off-the-record conversation about the highs and lows of working in the education technology field.

Speaker Bios:

Vish leads Sage Learning as CEO with a vision to apply future technologies to transform the current way we educate humans. He’s a resident doctor in emergency medicine, has been one of the highest rated Khan Academy Health and Medicine Teaching Fellows, and has been a consultant at Harvard Medical School and the World Health Organization on technology in learning. Outside of business, he casually plays video games, does a little bit of coding, and reads books like they’re going out of style. In the future, he is going to build us all personal flight suits.

Emma has deep interest in learning, memory, and education. She is the COO and co-founder of Sage Learning, and a PhD Student in the Harvard/MIT Center for Brains, Minds and Machines. She has worked with the World Health Organization as an EdTech consultant, with Khan Academy as a Teaching Fellow/Content Creator, and with Harvard Medical School to help educators create modern, engaging media. Like any good west coast Canadian, Emma spends as much time as possible frolicking in the great outdoors, and has recently taken up ultrarunning.
