Want to learn machine learning? Bring your laptop (pre-installed with the software listed below!) and join us as Brendan Kohler, Founder of Algorithmic.ly, discusses the basics of natural language processing and how to use it for machine learning. Brendan will then walk us through a hands-on project where we do machine learning using Python, the Natural Language Toolkit, and Scikit-Learn.
What you need to know:
– Experience with Python or a similar language (e.g., C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable with the basic programming constructs
– Comfortable operating from the command line or terminal.
If not, this is easy/quick to learn before the workshop and an important skill to have!
Bring your laptop with the following software installed:
– Python
– The Natural Language Toolkit
– Scikit-Learn
