John Williams has had a wide ranging career. After graduating from Harvard Law School and HBS, he the first person of color ever hired by Bain & Company as a strategy consultant. Later, he was a senior executive at American Express, where he led strategic planning, the U.S. Platinum Card, and the Consumer Travel Network. After Amex, John led a variety of ventures, including Biztravel.com, and Sentient Jet (private jet charter). He led consulting at Eduventures and served as a partner at the Bridgespan Group. He has served on the board of trustees of Amherst College, his alma mater, since 1984 (since 1996 as a Life Trustee)
John has been a private pilot since 1979. He is married and lives with his wife in Boston.
