Former Chief Financial Officer, Commonwealth Fusion Systems

Industry Expert

I am originally from New York and attended Penn (Wharton) undergrad and Harvard Business School for my MBA. I began my career with 10 years in strategy consulting, where I had a focus on building business strategies and operational growth/improvement (reengineering) programs, initially as an analyst and eventually becoming a partner at Mercer Management Consulting. My most recent 30 years have been in various company leadership roles, primarily as Chief Financial Officer for public, private and private equity-funded companies, in food, grocery, radio and energy. I am very operationally-focused and believe that having ambitious AND realistic plans, with clear priorities and resourcing, and a feedback loop that enables rapid learning and adaptation, is a key to success. These are the type of plans that enable companies to have the resilience to push hard AND weather the inevitable storms. Beyond work, I met my wife Lisa at Penn and we've been married for 40 years. We have 3 grown children. I run marathons for fun and have worked on our family tree for many years.
