Steve Cagnetta is a corporate attorney and co-founder of Company Counsel, LLC, an out-sourced general counsel firm focused on representing emerging companies. He has spent the past 20+ years advising entrepreneurs and startups on the business and legal matters that arise when building companies. He regularly attends and participates in the board of director meetings for his clients. His clients span a range of industries, including medical device, SAAS (i.e., fintech, crypto, healthcare IT), robotics and consulting. He also co-founded Healthcare Inroads, LLC, which leverages the team’s collective experience in clinical, research, regulatory, reimbursement, R&D, marketing, education, healthcare leadership and entrepreneurial endeavors to help medical device companies and healthcare systems achieve their goals. He previously co-founded a company called Primacea, Inc., which advises and supports entrepreneurial physicians that work with pharmaceutical and medical device companies. From time to time, he has represented and advised venture and angel groups on various matters.
Prior to founding Company Counsel, Steve practiced at Hutchins, Wheeler & Dittmar, in Boston and at O’Connor, Broude and Aronson, in Waltham. Before entering private practice, Steve was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
He currently volunteers as a Lawyer-in-Residence at the Arthur Rock Center for Entrepreneurship, at Harvard Business School, where he provides pro-bono counseling to students on a variety of matters. He is Chair of the Board of Trustees for Curran’s Calling, a foundation that provides scholarships for people seeking recovery through sober living. He is a trustee for the Winchester Affordable Housing Trust. He previously served for over 15 years as a member of the Board of Trustees (including as Chair) for the Christa McAuliffe Regional Community Charter Public School, a Massachusetts charter middle school located in Framingham, Massachusetts.
