Rachel Parker is this semester’s Maker Studio Teaching Assistant. Rachel is a master’s student in the Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Prior to her work at Harvard Graduate School of Education, Rachel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Languages and Literature from Bard College and a master’s certificate from Tufts University in Early Childhood Technology Education. With a background in elementary and middle school teaching, Rachel brings a passion for teaching, lifelong learning, project-based exploration, and creative expression. In her previous experience, Rachel helped create and maintain a school makerspace with a variety of high-tech and low-tech materials and machines.
Computer science and electrical engineering are some of the many ways that Rachel explores the practice of making and teaching others to create. She continues to learn and create in her personal life by painting, drawing, building furniture, programming, and reading. She is looking forward to the opportunity to welcome students from across the entire Harvard community to the Maker Studio.
