2020 Ingenuity Awards

  1. If I’m currently in the Build it Venture Program as a Semi-Finalist, does that disqualify me from the Ingenuity Awards?
Yes, neither President’s Innovation Challenge Semi-Finalists nor Finalists are eligible to apply for the Ingenuity Awards.
  2. If I win a Bertarelli Foundation Ingenuity Award, does the money have to go toward funding?
What you decide to do with your prize money is entirely up to you and your team!
  3. Can I apply as a team?
You can definitely team up for the Ingenuity Awards; however, the application must be in one person’s name. The prize money will be given to the applicant and they can divide it among the team.
  4. Do I have to attend the Awards Ceremony in May to receive an Ingenuity Award (provided by the Bertarelli Foundation)?
Yes, you must be present at the Awards Ceremony to win any of the President’s Innovation Challenge Bertarelli Foundation Awards, which includes the Ingenuity Awards.
  5. If I applied to the Ingenuity Awards as part of the President’s Innovation Challenge Start It Program, can I update my application?
Yes, if you are in the Start It Venture Program, you can update your Ingenuity Award application by emailing i-lab@harvard.edu. Please note, once you request to update your application, we will unsubmit your current entry. You MUST reapply with your updated info in order to be considered.
  6. Can I submit more than one idea?
No, only one application is allowed per student. However, if you are part of a team, you can apply with different ideas under different team members’ names.
