  • If you are an active i-lab member (member of Student i-lab, Climate Circle, Launch Lab X, and/or Pagliuca Harvard Life Lab) but cannot view member resources after logging in with your HarvardKey, we likely have the wrong email address and/or Harvard affiliation on file for you. Contact us to confirm which email is associated with your HarvardKey and your affiliated Harvard school so that we may update our records and grant you access.

Once we confirm/update your email address and affiliation, the top navigation menu will display one of the following, depending on your member type:

  • Yes, all Harvard-affiliated i-lab members must have an active HarvardKey to log in to the i-lab website and access member resources.

All current students already have a HarvardKey.

Depending on their graduation date, alumni may or may not have a HarvardKey. Follow the instructions below to claim your alumni HarvardKey or update the email address associated with your HarvardKey.

  • If you graduated before HarvardKey was launched (or never set yours up), you may claim your HarvardKey and access alumni tools and services by following these steps:

    1. Visit the HarvardKey Claim Page.
    2. Click “Claim Your HarvardKey.”
    3. Choose “I am an alumnus/a” and follow the steps.
    4. You’ll be asked to verify your identity using your name, graduation year, school, and email or HUID.

Important: If you're unable to verify your identity online, you'll be directed to contact Harvard Alumni Services or IT Help for assistance.

  • If you already have a HarvardKey, but the email associated with it is outdated or inactive, you must send a request to Harvard IT:

    • Email: ithelp@harvard.edu
    • Subject: Request to Update HarvardKey Email
    • Include:
      • Full Name
      • HUID (Harvard University ID)
      • Current email associated with HarvardKey
      • New preferred email
      • A short note (e.g., “I’m graduating and would like to update my HarvardKey email for long-term access.”)
  • If you're graduating in 2025, your HarvardKey is already active and associated with your Harvard student email address (e.g., @college.harvard.edu, @g.harvard.edu).

Depending on the access rules determined by your school, your Harvard email may expire after graduation, so it's important to update the email associated with your HarvardKey to a permanent email for recovery and alumni access.

You cannot update your HarvardKey email yourself through the portal. Instead, you must send a request to Harvard IT:

    • Email: ithelp@harvard.edu
    • Subject: Request to Update HarvardKey Email
    • Include:
      • Full Name
      • HUID (Harvard University ID)
      • Current email associated with HarvardKey
      • New preferred email
      • A short note (e.g., “I’m graduating and would like to update my HarvardKey email for long-term access.”)

Access for non-Harvard affiliates does not extend to other Harvard buildings and resources.
