I am a New York-based British entrepreneur, educator, designer, writer and editor. My primary interests are at the intersection of cities, design, technology and people.
I founded the London School of Architecture, a fully accredited alternative model for architectural education in the UK. Opening in 2015, I stepped down as CEO in 2021 to spend two years in Boston, first as a Loeb Fellow at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design (2021-22), then as a Senior Research Fellow at MIT's Senseable City Lab (2022-23).
I presently live in Manhattan, where I teach innovation and entrepreneurship in real estate at New York University. Previously Executive Editor of The Architectural Review, this September, I’m launching a quarterly magazine on cities for the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, while researching a book, Builders of Change, about the role of entrepreneurs in transforming cities to deliver social and environmental impacts.
