Vivian Liu-Somers is the Senior Associate Director, Technology + Data Management. She is responsible for the i-lab's technology and data solutions, assessing current and future technology needs to improve i-lab processes and prepare for continued digital transformation.
A "recovering attorney," Vivian was responsible for overseeing product management and technology ownership for Liberty Mutual's legal department, ensuring that the company's products met customer needs and business goals. With a robust background in knowledge management and product development, Vivian was instrumental in driving innovation and efficiency within Liberty Mutual's legal department.
Her expertise spans across various domains, including project management, strategic planning, and change management. She previously was a consultant at Harvard Business School's technology department. At HBS, Vivian built strong relationships across the university to implement Canvas and Kaltura, improving the education experience and centralizing digital learning workflows.
Vivian is also an experienced actor, writer, and director, actively involved in the Boston theater community. She has collaborated with numerous theater groups and has acted and written several plays, showcasing her creative talents. She holds a law degree from Boston College Law School and a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
