EndoShunt is a novel surgical tool for controlling abdominal bleeding, allowing surgeons to place a temporary, length-adjustable shunt within the major abdominal vessels. Trauma surgeons are placed in an untenable position when trying to save patients as they hemorrhage. Surgeons often do not have enough time to access the injured site before the patient dies from blood loss. EndoShunt effectively controls hemorrhage while maintaining blood flow to the rest of the body, providing trauma surgeons with the time they need to perform definitive repairs.
