Today, India is home to almost a fifth of the world’s child population. More than 300 million of these children are marginalized and lack safe spaces to express and the agency to thrive. They often grow up to experience low levels of confidence and stifled creativity. Saturday Art Class is focused on providing access to visual arts and social-emotional learning to these children in their formative years while operating within the current Indian education system.

What began as a pilot project in 2016 with 30 children in our cofounder Manasi’s classroom in a low-income school in Mumbai has grown to directly and continually impact more than 165,000 children across 11 states in India. Our vision is that if every child has the confidence to create, we can unlock creative potential that can positively change the trajectory of India.
