The Harvard Innovation Labs is welcoming 19 ventures into Launch Lab X, the university innovation center’s global accelerator for Harvard alumni founders.
“Since hosting our inaugural Launch Lab X cohort in 2018, the Harvard Innovation Labs has nurtured hundreds of alumni-led ventures in scaling their teams, refining their products, and expanding their customer bases,” said Matt Segneri, Bruce and Bridgitt Evans Executive Director of the Harvard Innovation Labs. “What makes Launch Lab X truly stand out is its commitment to being industry agnostic and bringing together founders from all over the world. Time and again, participants in Launch Lab X cite the value of broadening their perspectives as they become immersed in this community of exceptional entrepreneurs from a broad array of backgrounds.”
Launch Lab X is an equity-free, virtual accelerator that takes place over eight months. The adaptive, milestone-based program offers ventures several resources, including:
- Tactical workshops: From product roadmap design to growth marketing strategy and scaling culture, LLX founders participate in workshops with experienced leaders.
- Personalized coaching: LLX teams have access to one-on-one coaching from experts on a wide range of topics.
- Pitch feedback sessions: The Harvard Innovation Labs curates a diverse group of founders and investors who challenge LLX ventures on everything from their business model to their value proposition.
- Founder talks: Throughout the program, successful founders who represent multiple industries and backgrounds speak with the cohort on a variety of startup topics, from learning how to delegate to equitable hiring practices.
- Leadership Circles: Led by later-stage entrepreneurs and leaders within the Harvard [i-lab] community, these facilitated conversations are where founders share challenges, and inspire each other.
- Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge: At the end of the eight-month accelerator, Launch Lab X ventures have the opportunity to compete for a share of $150,000 in prize money through two the Alumni and Affiliates tracks in the Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge, the University’s annual venture competition hosted by the Harvard Innovation Labs.
“From rethinking how technology can be used for election voting, to exploring how AI can help improve elementary education access and quality, 2024–2025 Launch Lab X participants are working on complex and meaningful issues in their respective industries,” said Thara Pillai, director of alumni programs and engagement at the Harvard Innovation Labs. “I look forward to seeing the impact of these ventures grow over the next eight months and following their progress for many years to come.”
More than 200 Harvard alumni-led ventures applied for Launch Lab X. Admitted ventures hail from six countries, representing eight Harvard schools.
