Announcing 2,100+ Harvard Innovation Labs Members and 100+ President’s Innovation Challenge Semifinalists

For the 2025 spring semester, more than 2,100 student innovators and entrepreneurs from across Harvard University have joined the Harvard Innovation Labs as members. Approximately 70% of these students are working on more than 800 ventures, while the other 30% are at the idea stage of their innovation journeys.

Today, the Harvard Innovation Labs is also announcing the 111 student-led ventures and 27 alumni-led ventures selected as semifinalists for the 2025 Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge (PIC), a competition for students and select alumni pursuing ventures that are redefining what’s possible in their fields. The founders of the semifinalist ventures represent 12 Harvard schools and more than 30 industries.

PIC finalists will be announced in March, and on May 7 finalists will pitch their ventures at the President’s Innovation Challenge Awards Ceremony. Winners will receive a part of $517,000 in prizes, funded entirely by a generous gift from the Bertarelli Foundation.

The Health Care + Life Sciences Track is open to ventures that are improving the efficacy of healthcare services, including therapeutics, devices, and digital health. Projects may address a wide range of issues, from improving access to care to realizing the potential of personalized therapies.

  • CArbi (Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health) is building an Arabic AI-powered app for simplifying carb tracking for traditional and complex dishes.
  • Celsius Bio (Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences) is a rapid diagnostic device providing antimicrobial susceptibility test results in hours, instead of days, to guide effective antibiotic treatments.
  • ENF Medical, LLC (Harvard Medical School) is developing cutting-edge nanofiber technology for customizable grafts in bone, dental, IVD, cartilage, and bioactive implant coatings.
  • Global Particle Therapy (GPT) (Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health) is offering cancer patients access to affordable, advanced proton therapy by reducing the size and cost of existing devices via disruptive technology.
  • ICOR (Harvard College) is improving codon optimization using deep neural networks — increasing the efficiency of recombinant expression.
  • Keles Keyless Expander (Harvard School of Dental Medicine) is standing out among conventional palatal expanders through its built-in activation arm.
  • Laptis (Harvard Business School) is building a platform that will streamline access to substance abuse treatment for lawyers, physicians, and social workers on behalf of their clients.
  • LogicFlo AI (Harvard Business School) is creating a clinical research co-pilot for life sciences companies.
